Punch list and snag clearance

Use the Punch List for a cracked tile, leaking tap or unfinished paint patch with an owner and finish condition. An inspection covers a checklist; a punch item follows a defect. Open Punch List or the project tab, create an item and enter project, title, location, description, priority, category, assignee and due date as available. “Replace cracked tile beside the kitchen door” gives the repairer a clear task. This module belongs to Punch List & Closeout/DLP.

   Create the defect

   Open Punch List or the project tab. Enter the title, project, location, priority and description, and assign responsibility where offered.

   Capture the condition

   Attach before photos that show the location and the defect clearly. Keep each item focused on one issue that can be checked.

   Fix and request review

   Update progress, add after photos and mark the item Ready for review when the correction is complete.

   Verify, then close

   The authorized reviewer checks the evidence and either verifies or rejects the correction. Close after verification; if rejected, correct the work and request review again.

Start with Open, move to In progress for repair, then Ready for review. Small repairs may move directly from Open to Ready for review. A reviewer verifies or rejects the repair. Rejected work returns to In progress or Ready for review; Verified can then become Closed. Sign-off uses its own permission, so assignment alone does not grant verification authority. Closed has no normal reopen action.

Add before evidence that shows the defect and where it is. Add after evidence from a comparable angle and explain anything the photograph cannot prove. Use comments for clarification while recording the formal decision through the review action.

When critical punch clearance is enabled and the feature is available, open critical items can prevent project completion. Plan a final review before handover. Do not lower priority merely to bypass the check; resolve the underlying work and record sign-off.

Client-visible items can be shared through the project portal. After handover, clients can raise defects during the open DLP window; these enter the same register with a DLP source. The internal team still repairs and verifies them. See handover and warranties.
