Drawing Register & Revision Control
Keep a live register of drawings by number, discipline and revision, supersede a drawing atomically when a new revision lands, and warn anyone who opens an out-of-date sheet.
Use this when: Drawings are being revised on site and you need everyone building from the current revision, never a superseded one.
The drawing register lives inside Documents. A drawing is a document with extra metadata, a drawing number, discipline, revision code and status. The register shows only the current revision of each number, and superseding a drawing retires the old revision the instant a new one is issued, so no one builds from a stale sheet.
The Register
Open Documents and switch to the Drawings tab. Each row is the current revision of a drawing number, filter by discipline, status, or search by number and title. Superseded revisions are hidden by default; expand a row's history to see them.
A drawing carries a status: preliminary, for approval, for construction, as-built, or superseded. On a project's own Drawings tab the register defaults to for-construction drawings, what the field actually builds from.
Only current revisions are listed
The register never shows a superseded drawing in its default view, so the sheet you open is the one to build from.
Adding a Drawing

Upload with type Drawing
Choose document type Drawing, then fill in the drawing number, discipline, revision, status, and optionally scale and sheet size.

Watch for duplicates
If the drawing number already exists on the project, you are warned and offered Supersede instead, because a second live copy of the same number is never what you want.
Superseding a Revision
When a new revision lands, use Supersede rather than uploading a duplicate. Upload the new file, give it a new revision code and status, and the old revision is marked SUPERSEDED in the same action. Everyone assigned to the project is notified that a new revision is current.
Superseding is atomic: if two people try at once, only one wins and the other is asked to reload, the register can never end up with two current copies of the same number.
The SUPERSEDED banner
Open an old revision from any link and a large red SUPERSEDED banner sits above it, with a jump to the current revision. A superseded sheet can never be mistaken for the live one.
What Clients See
Drawings you mark client-visible appear in the client portal with the same revision and status signal, including the SUPERSEDED banner, so a client reviewing drawings sees exactly what the site team sees.
